ECO4 Scheme Update – Can You Still Apply?
The UK Government’s ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation) scheme has helped thousands of households improve their home energy efficiency through funded upgrades such as boiler replacements, air source heat pumps, solar PV and insulation. Plumbwise has previously supported customers by processing ECO4 claims and delivering these improvements.
The scheme is now approaching its final phase. ECO4 is currently scheduled to run until December 2026, but it will not be replaced in the same form after this date. Instead, the Government plans to move towards a new programme known as the Warm Homes Plan, which will change how funding is delivered.
This means eligible households can still apply for ECO4 support now, but applications must be assessed, approved and installed before the scheme closes. As funding is limited and demand remains high, acting sooner rather than later is important.
ECO4 continues to focus on supporting people on lower incomes, those receiving qualifying benefits and households with poorly insulated homes. Grants may still be available for heating upgrades and energy efficiency measures, subject to eligibility and availability of funding.
