The latest, most efficient solar panels for domestic use
At Plumbwise, we treat solar PV as an engineered energy system, not just panels on a roof. When solar is designed properly and installed with precision, it becomes one of the most effective ways to reduce household energy costs and take control of rising utility bills.
Performance starts with smart design. Panel placement, roof orientation, system sizing, inverter selection, and battery integration all directly impact how much energy you generate and how much you actually use. Get it wrong and you lose efficiency. Get it right and you maximise every kilowatt produced.
That’s why we take a data-led approach, analysing your property and consumption patterns to create a system that delivers real, measurable savings. The result is lower bills, faster payback, and long-term energy independence – a solution that works harder for your home every day.
- Accurate system sizing to match your real energy demand
- Optimised panel layout for maximum generation year-round
- High-performance inverters and optional battery storage integration
- Professional installation ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity
- Reduced electricity bills and protection from future price rises

I approached Plumbwise in around September 2024 about getting an eco grant appproved for my house. We went through the application process, they were initially very friendly and professional. I had the funding approved, they came to fit new extractor fans and loft insulation within a matter of weeks which was great. After a few weeks the extractor fan in my kitchen stopped working, it took them almost three months to send someone to fix it, only after i had chased them up. My grant was approved for Solar panels, air source heat pump and wall insulation. I have periodically contacted Plumbwise around every three months chasing them up about the work, being dismissed every time. I had given up chasing them when a family member encouraged me to try one more time. So i have recently contacted them to see what's going on. Only to be told that the funding is no longer available. I have waited a year and half for this work to be done, postponed all home renovation in the mean time, now only to find out that I wont be getting the work done. And, I wasn't even notified that this was happening. I can't say for what their regular service is like, but, I have been underwhelmed and dissapointed with my experience of them.Posted on Google David EdwardsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Frequently asked questions about Solar PV
A correctly designed system can significantly cut your electricity costs by generating free power during the day and reducing what you buy from the grid. Many households offset 40–70% of their annual usage, and even more when battery storage is added. The exact saving depends on system size, usage habits, and roof space.
System sizing should be based on your real energy consumption, not guesswork. At Plumbwise, we analyse your bills, roof orientation, and property layout to design a system that maximises return without overspending on unnecessary panels.
Yes. Solar PV generates electricity from daylight, not just sunshine. Panels still perform on cloudy days, making them highly effective year-round across Wales and the wider UK.
If you’re out during the day, a battery stores excess power for evening use, increasing savings and reducing reliance on the grid. It’s one of the fastest ways to improve system efficiency and long-term value.
Most panels last 25–30+ years with minimal maintenance. Inverters and batteries have shorter lifespans but are easily replaceable. A properly installed system delivers decades of reliable performance.
Very little. Panels are self-cleaning in rain, and we recommend periodic checks to ensure everything is operating efficiently. Monitoring systems also flag any issues early.
Most residential installs are completed within 1–3 days, depending on system size and complexity. We plan carefully to minimise disruption to your home.
Poor layout, incorrect sizing, or substandard installation reduces output and savings. A professionally engineered system generates more energy, lasts longer, and delivers a faster payback — which is exactly why we take a design-first approach.
